     Jimmie Boyd Ireland, 77, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services for Jimmie Ireland will be 1:00 pm Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church; 619 Main St.; Iowa Falls, IA 50126. A time of visitation with friends and family will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls.      Jimmie Boyd Ireland was born on July 26, 1940 to Hershel Boyd and Doris Elaine [Dorsey] Ireland. Jimmie graduated from Griswold High School in 1958. He joined the Air Force in 1961 until he was honorably discharged in 1969. Later on he was in the Iowa Army National Guard for 15 years, joining in 1986. On April 15, 1995 he was united in marriage to Sherrie Marie Hesnard. During his life he worked as a chief engineer, and was in charge of housekeeping at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Club, and also of the Ackley American Legion, where he was a past commander. His hobbies he loved to do in his free time included hunting, fishing, music, and cooking.

     Jimmie Boyd Ireland is survived by his wife: Sherrie Ireland of Iowa Falls, Iowa; three sons: Kip [Leslie] Ireland of Humboldt, Iowa, Wade Ireland of Iowa Falls, and Michael [Nicole] Ireland of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; one brother: Gary [Judy] Ireland of Iowa Falls; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Jimmie Ireland was preceded in death by his parents: Hershel and Doris Ireland.
