She attended the Iowa Falls Community School District, graduating from the Iowa Falls High School in 1977. She attended Utah State, the University of Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa with a goal of a career in ministry. She was a gifted poet, writer, artist, and a master of the pun. Despite a lifetime of physical and mental challenges, Carrie had an abiding faith in her Savior Jesus Christ, and her wishes were to have everyone celebrate her life and “newfound fun and grace in her eternal life in Heaven with God” and that she is “finally at peace and whole.” The family would like to thank the numerous people that have dedicated part of their life to helping and caring for Carrie.
