Reita Kay Shugar

Reita Kay Shugar, 70, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and formerly of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Thursday April 7, 2016 at the St Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel, 903 Cerro Gordo, Ackley, Iowa 50601. There will be a time of remembrance and visitation two hours prior from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm also at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ackley, Iowa. Reita Kay Shugar was born September 1, 1945 in Iowa Falls, the daughter of Edward J. and Eva Marie [Baker] Shugar. While growing up she lived in Iowa Falls and Storm Lake, Iowa. While living in Iowa Falls, Reita attended the Church of the Nazarene. After moving to Storm Lake she attended the Church Of Christ as well as the Summit Church in Alta, Iowa. Reita always looked forward to attending church. Reita Shugar was very sociable and enjoyed getting to know people. She alway had little dogs, her last one being Pee-Wee, and was always taking care of her baby dolls. She loved making pot holders and hook rugs, and giving them to people. She passed her free time with her mom doing puzzles, and shared a love for the Chicago Cubs with her. Reita also loved coloring. One of the things she was good at was shaming people who smoked, and getting many of those people to quit smoking!

Reita Shugar was preceded in death by her parents: Edward J. and Eva Marie Shugar; two brothers: Arthur Shugar and Mike Martin; and one sister-in-law: Ede Martin.
