Martha Julia Reed, 79, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at the Scenic Manor Nursing Home of Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Martha Reed will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Iowa Falls; 221 Fischer. A time of visitation and sharing will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls; 1521 Washington Ave. Burial will be at the Friends Cemetery, Hardin County, Iowa Falls. Martha Julia Holland was born January 15, 1937 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Martin John Holland and Dorothy [Hogan] Holland. She attended the Iowa Falls School District. On June 15, 1960 she married Richard F. Reed in Eldora, Iowa. During most of her life she worked at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital as a housekeeper for over 25 years. After retiring from there on July 18, 1996 she went to work for Hardee’s as a hostess, which was truly her most favorite job. She genuinely enjoyed meeting people and the conversations with everyone.

Martha Julia Reed is survived by her daughter: Edna Jean [Randy] Lyman of Iowa Falls, Iowa; four sisters: Linda, Jolene, Patty, and Wanda; two brothers: Marion and Tom; two grandson’s: Casey [Laura] Lyman and Joshua Lyman of Iowa Falls; two great-granddaughters: Cheyenne and Braxtin Lyman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents: Martin John Holland and Dorothy Holland-Warner; her husband: Richard Reed; one brother Martin F. Holland; two sisters: Dorothy Ball and Iris Holman; and her step-father: Ray Warner.
