Virginia Lee (Tvedt) Fredericks

Virginia Lee Fredericks, 94, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 at the Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Virginia Fredericks will be 10:30 am Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the First Baptist Church; 521 Rocksylvania Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the Linn’s Funeral Home; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Virginia Lee Tvedt was born to John Arthur and Nellie [Thiel] Tvedt on June 12, 1925 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She attended the Montour High School, graduating in 1942. She attended the Iowa State Teachers College [now UNI], graduating in 1942, and went on to teach at Renweck, and then moved on to the Blanche Stoddard Grade School in Iowa Falls. On December 24, 1948 she was united in marriage to Richard Henry Fredericks in Montour, Iowa. She was a member of the Parchment Club, Isabella Club, Iowa Falls Questers, Franklin County Historical Society, and a director at the museum there. She was also a Girl Scout and 4H Leader. She was also a member of the Iowa Master Homemakers, the Baptist Women, and also a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Hubbard Art Group of ladies, and finally a member of many other clubs that she enjoyed spending time with.

Virginia Lee Fredericks is survived by her three children: Jeannette Lee [John] Fredericks-Weber of Early, Iowa, Paul Henry [Barbara] Fredericks of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Erick Arthur [Debra] Fredericks, of Iowa Falls; four brothers and sisters: Roberta [Leonard] Schied of Montour, Iowa, Douglas [Gail] Tvedt of Iowa City, Iowa, Carol Rinella of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Kathleen Casey of Gaffney, South Carolina; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Virginia Lee Fredericks was preceded in death by her parents: John and Nellie Tvedt; and her husband: Richard Fredericks.
