Virginia Louise (Nielsen) Fiscus

Virginia Whiteside Fiscus, 99, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, having lived a full life went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, October 8, 2020, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: Sunday October 11th 5:00-7:00 pm there will be a time of visitation at Iowa Falls Evangelical Free Church. Funeral time will be 11:00 am Monday, October 12, 2020 at Iowa Falls Evangelical Free Church, 19939 Co Rd D20, Iowa Falls, Iowa with visitation one hour before the service.  Burial will be at Northlawn Memory Garden Cemetery Iowa Falls, Iowa at 3:00. Virginia Louise Nielsen was born July 19, 1921, in Fairmont, Minnesota to Holger and Katherine Lorenson Nielsen. Virginia graduated from the Albert Lea Community Schools with the class of 1939. On August 6, 1939 she was married to, Marvin Whiteside and they had a daughter, Linda. Marvin passed away on December 2, 1986. On November 24, 1989 she was united in marriage to Cleo Fiscus. Virginia worked as a secretary and book keeper for her husband’s business, Beer and Whiteside Plumbing and Heating for many years. She also worked for Hardin County REC and Hardin County Social Services.

Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church since 1939 and most recently attended the Iowa Falls Evangelical Free Church with her family. She also participated in Christian Women’s Club, Parchment Club and volunteered at the Iowa Falls Nutrition Sight for about 20 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and remembered for her faith and her sweet, kind, gentle, caring spirit.

Virginia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Linda and Ron Allen of Iowa Falls, Iowa and their three children: Dawn Weiser and sons, Justin and Parker- Arkansas; Heath (Rebecca) Allen and daughters, McKenzie and Emily- Michigan; Brooke (Bret) Roeske and daughters, Abby and Alli and son Nathan- Iowa Falls; her step daughter; Bonnie Anderson- Martinez, California and her three children: Sarah (Noah) Metz and sons, Jeffrey and Joel; Joel (Jung) Anderson; Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Anderson and sons, Parker and Paxton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marvin Whiteside; second husband Cleo Fiscus; eight brothers and sisters and step son-in-law, Jim Anderson.
