Velva Killin Obituary

Velva Killin, 102, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021, at Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls, Iowa.

Velva was born May 12, 1918, in Ellsworth, Iowa, to Andrew and Tida (Twedt) Thompson. She attended Ellsworth Community School in Ellsworth, Iowa and graduated from the Hamilton School of Commerce in Mason City, Iowa. She enjoyed working in Mason City before her marriage to Leo C. Killin in Mason City, Iowa on June 26,1948. In later years she enjoyed working in the Iowa Falls school lunch program.

Velva is survived by her three daughters: Eileen Killin of Des Moines, Iowa; Cheryl Killin of Waterloo, Iowa; and Cynthia (John) Brewer of Jacksonville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, her parents and her brother T. Dale Thompson.
