Theodore “Ted” Vern Lord 73, of Iowa Falls, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Hansen Family Hospital, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Linn’s Funeral Chapel, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa, 50126. Military Honors will be at 7:00 PM following visitation. Burial will be at St Mark Cemetery, Iowa Falls at a later date. . Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army and Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post #188, Iowa Falls.
Ted was born December 1, 1952, in Freeborn County, Minnesota, to Roger Bruce and Velma Francis (Ward) Lord. Ted attended the Iowa Falls High School and graduated with the class of 1972. Ted entered into the United States Army September 28, 1972, and was discharged on September 26, 1975. He served with the Svc Battery 1/19th Artillery Headquarters, Fort Carson, Colorado and the 1133d Transportation Company in the Iowa National Guard after discharge. He received an auto body degree from Hawkeye Technical College in Waterloo, Iowa. On June 19, 1982, he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Wilmer. Ted was a farmer and drove truck. He was employed by Heinzeroth Brothers, Iowa Falls Farmers Coop, Summit Farms and Schager Farms. He loved spending time with his family and especially all his grand children. Ted was a member of the Hyman Peavey American Legion Post #188 in Iowa Falls. He helped put flags up for Memorial Day in the cemeteries each year. Ted participated in many car shows. He has had eight Corvettes and four Camaros. Ted was a member of the Scenic City cruisers and went on many car cruises with friends around the area. A memorable experience of Teds was going to Washington D.C on the Honor Flight with his good friend Jim Thoms.
Ted is survived by his wife: Patricia Lord of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his son: Shawn (D.J) Brockway of Lawrence, Kansas; son Corey (Candice) Brockway of Iowa Falls, Iowa; grandchildren: Diamond, Chevelle, Gage, and Zoey: sister-in-law Mary Ellen Lord, sister Beth (John) Coningsby; sister in law: Betty (John) Newton; brother in law: John (Sandy) Wilmer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roger and Velma Lord; his brother: Roger Lord, and sister: Pat Lord; Parents in law George and Thelma Wilmer; niece: Jenny Newton; and nephew: Jeremy Newton.
