Thelma (Tootie) Yakel, 76, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Scenic Manor of Iowa Falls. Visitation with viewing will be 1:00 to 3:00 pm Saturday May 22, 2021, for Thelma (Tootie) Yakel at Linn’s Funeral Chapel in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Thelma Mae Oelmann was born May 15, 1945, to Fred and Stientje (Dannen) Oelmann at her parents home in Hardin County. She attended country schools. On August 12, 1995 Thelma was united in marriage to Roger Yakel. She worked at Boyt, Riverside, and Walmart. Tootie was a Lady of the Moose Lodge and was an avid bowler and attended many bowling tournaments and loved to go to the casino.

Thelma is survived by her husband: Roger Yakel of Iowa Falls; a step-son Bryan Yakel of Pleasant Hill; a step-daughter: Jennifer of Gilbert, Arizona; a sister: Martha Heiden of Amery, Wisconsin; a brother: Raymond (Donna) Oelmann of Beaman, Iowa ; and many nieces and nephews.

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Stientje Oelmann; siblings: George Oelmann, Else Oelmann, Jennie Risius, Florence Slagle, Mattie Kolthoff, Edward Oelmann, Freddie Oelmann, Henry Oelmann, Harvey Oelmann, and Robert Oelmann.
