Funeral services for Shirley Caruth will be 10:30 am Saturday, June 4, 2022, at First Christian Church 221 Fischer Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 am, with burial at Northlawn Cemetery Iowa Falls, Iowa directly following services. Shirley Mae Tjarks was born October 19, 1929 to Ernest William and Alta Marie (Whipple) Tjarks in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Shirley attended the Iowa Falls schools.She was united in marriage to Clifford Glen Caruth on June 1, 1947 and to this union two children were born Glenn and Barbretta. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of Ellsworth Municipal Hospital Auxiliary, the Legion Auxiliary Post #188, and was a Girl Scout leader. Shirley loved her family and spent all her time with them and took lots of pictures when they were together. Shirley and her husband liked to travel. Shirley is survived by her son: Glenn Caruth of Iowa Falls; son in-law Rex Crain of Toledo; special niece: JoAnn (Joe) Riggins of Iowa Falls; one sister: JoAnn (Terry) Gilbert of Mason City; five grandchildren: Eric (Angela) Caruth of Grosse Isle, Michigan; Ryan (Susan) Crain of Toledo, Iowa; Tyson (Gemmalyn) Caruth of Pensacola, Florida; Brenda (Steve) Sonderleiter of Tama, Iowa; and Sabrina Caruth (Robin Woods) of Iowa Falls, Iowa: eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Ernest and Alta Tjarks, husband: Clifford (Glen) Caruth; her daughter: Barbretta Crain; daughter in-law: Sandi Caruth; five brothers: Everett Tjarks, Donald Tjarks, Ernest Tjarks, Richard Tjarks and Gary Tjarks; one sister: Bonnie Bahr.
