Roy Mitchell, 86, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Roy Mitchell will be at 11:00 am at the Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Ave., Iowa Falls, 50126. A time of visitation will be one hour prior at 10:00 am, also at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls. Following the service there will be a time of fellowship with friends and family. There will be a private burial at a later time. The Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls is helping the family with arrangements.

Roy Lee Mitchell was born on April 5, 1929 in Eldora, Iowa. He was the son of Clarence and Nora [Brown] Mitchell with 5 brothers and 1 sister. He graduated from Eldora High School in 1947. On September 4, 1957 he married Helen Powgnas in Whitten, Iowa at the Whitten Christian Church. During his life Roy worked at Shane’s Car Dealer and mostly for International Harvester and CASE International and the Iowa Falls Marina in Iowa Falls. Roy Mitchell was a member of the Kiwanis Club, also he was in the United States Army and a proud member of the American Legion. Roy was also an avid lover of cars, especially Buicks!

Roy Lee Mitchell is survived by his wife Helen Mitchell of Iowa Falls, a brother: Carol Mitchell of Littero, Colorado; a sister-in-law Vera Gerzema of Iowa Falls and six nieces and nephews: Mary Lou, Margaret, Karen, Greg, Janice, and Lori. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Nora Mitchell; one sister: Lucille Anderson; and four brothers: Greg, Lloyd, Clayton, and Clinton Mitchell; and an infant brother.
