Robert D. Faris, 87, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and formerly of New Providence, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Robert D. Faris will be 11:00 am Saturday at the Honey Creek New Providence Friends Church, 604 Cherry Drive, New Providence, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, November 9th at the Linn's Funeral Home; 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Honey Creek New providence Friends Church. or the New providence Round House. Cremation rites will be provided after the services with a private family burial at a later date at the New Providence Cemetery. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Robert David Faris was born January 15, 1925, at his parents' home in Hardin County, Iowa, the son of Harry David and Blanche Loretta [Beach] Faris. He graduated from the New Providence Community School with the class on 1943. On June 1, 1948 Robert was united in marriage to Doris Helen Meyer at Iowa Falls, Iowa. To this union a daughter was born: Carol. Robert farmed the home place near New Providence, Iowa, retiring to Iowa Falls around 2001

Robert Faris is survived by his daughter: Carol [David] Wilson of Saskatoon, Canada; two grandchildren: Megan and Ryan Wilson of Saskatoon, Canada; and a sister: Donna Mae Bernard of Eldora, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Blanche Faris and his wife Doris Faris.
