Neva Alt, 99, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Scenic Manor, Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Neva Alt will be 10:30 am Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Bethany Lutheran Church; 2712 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, with Pastor David Werges officiating. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday evening, March 26th at the Linn's Funeral Home 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o her son: Harold Alt, 207 Wilkinson Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Neva Mae Brass was born September 29, 1913, at her parents home in Franklin County, Iowa, the daughter of John E. and Mae Helena [Kirsbom] Brass. She attended country school through the eighth grade. On July 18, 1934, Neva was united in marriage to August Karl Alt in Iowa Falls, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Elizabeth, Shirley, and Harold. Neva was a homemaker for the most part but did do cooking for the Iowa Falls Sales Pavilion and the Baptist Assembly Ground Camps. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Iowa Falls and the United Lutheran Church Women and the Elderberry Society.

Neva Alt is survived by a daughter: Shirley Lyman [Melvin Hunter] of Wilton, Iowa; a son: Harold [Carol] Alt of Iowa Falls, Iowa; 6 grandchildren: Rick [Linda] Schwennen, John [Mary] Schwennen, Sandra [Philip] Gutting, Jeri [Duane] Wiskus, Larry [Tammy] Lyman, Scott [Tyann] Lyman; 16 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and two sisters: Doris Dufloth and Florence Neuendorf both of Iowa Falls. She was preceded In death by her parents: John and Mae Brass, her husband: August Alt; a daughter and her husband: Elizabeth and John Schwennen; a brother: John W. Brass; a sister: Amanda Brass; and a grandson: Jeffrey Lyman.
