Michael William Johnson, 71, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services for Michael Johnson will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel, 1521 Washington Ave., Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. There will be a time of visitation from 12:00 until 2:00 pm ,also Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls.     Michael William Johnson was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Ernest Theodore and Lois Marie [Toole] Johnson in Laurens, Iowa. Mike graduated from the Iowa Falls Community School District in 1967, and then enlisted in the United States Navy in October of 1968. Where he served for 6 years as a Navy Seabee. He then went on to work for Heartland Asphalt Inc. On December 2, 1976 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Bonin. He had three children: Stevan, Krystal, and Adam. He worked for Heartland until his retirement as a Foreman and Superintendent in 2020.  Michael Johnson was a member of the American Legion Post 188 and also a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Iowa Falls. During his free time he always was finding something to do, and becoming great at it. Including his favorite things of fishing, camping, and traveling across the United States with his wife Cheryl.

    Michael William Johnson is survived by his wife: Cheryl Johnson of Iowa Falls, Iowa; three children: Stevan [Jennifer] Johnson of Johnston, Iowa, Krystal Johnson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Adam Johnson of Iowa Falls; 6 grandchildren: Alyssa, Spencer, Gavin, Annabelle, Vincent, Raquel; and a sister: Julie Johnson of Forsyth Montana. Michael Johnson was preceded in death by his parents: Ernest and Lois Johnson and three siblings: Jerry Wilwert, Marilyn Wilwert, and Debra Johnson.
