Michael Dean Anderson, 73, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away September 13, 2025 at Azria Health Park Place in Des Moines, Iowa. There will be a graveside service for Michael Anderson 11:00 am Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Linn’s Funeral is assisting the family with arrangements. Michael (Mike) Dean Anderson was born July 16, 1952, in Guthrie Center, Iowa to Mary Rae (Clouse)  and Dean Anderson. He attended Iowa Falls schools and graduated in 1970. He was the drum major his senior year for the Iowa Falls marching band.  He attended Ellsworth Jr. College,  University of Northern Iowa and art school in Chicago.  He moved to California in 1979 and lived there for about 35 years working for design firms as a designer of office spaces for various clients. He really enjoyed his job and living in San Francisco.

Mike had a very nice singing voice and loved dancing. Music was a big part of his life as well as his love of art.

Health issues forced him to return to Iowa to be closer to family in 2013. He was living in Des Moines at Azria Health Park Place when he passed away September 13, 2025, under hospice care.

He is survived by his brother Ron (Polly) of Ankeny, IA and his sister Kelly (Kevin) Krabbe of Salida, Colorado; his niece and nephews and great nieces and nephews, six cousins and his aunt Martha Caulkins of Nashville, TN and uncle Bud (Kyung Ja) Anderson of Largo, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, two cousins and a nephew.
