Maxine Alverson, 95, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away, Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa falls. Funeral services for Maxine Alverson will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the Linn's Funeral Chapel, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Private burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to Iowa Falls Community Schools in Maxine's memory to be used for music scholarships. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Maxine May Hettler was born May 27, 1918, at Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of George W. and Marguerite [Zager] Hettler, who were pioneer residents of Hardin County.. She attended the Iowa Falls Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1936. She then went to the Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, Iowa graduating with her teaching license in 1940. She taught Kindergarten at Van Horne and Eldora Community Schools. On July 25, 1966, Maxine was united in marriage to Marvin Alverson and they made their home in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Maxine was an artist and musician and shred her talents for the enjoyment of others; thus her request for music scholarship memorials.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents: George and Marguerite Hettler; her husband: Marvin Alverson; and her sister: Virginia Pulis Doud.
