Marilyn J. Furman, 86, of Winterset, Iowa, formerly of Bradford Iowa, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019, at the
West Bridge Care & RehabilitationCenter Winterset. Per Marilyn’s wishes cremation rites have accorded. There will be a private graveside service at St. Peters Cemetery, Geneva, Iowa at a later date.
Marilyn Joan Meyer was born October 21, 1933, at Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Mollie Gnade Meyer. She graduated Iowa Falls High School with the Class of 1951 .On July 4, 1953, she was united in marriage to Dean Lavere Furman. To this union three children were born: Deanna, Donna and Steve. She worked for the North Scott Schools for many years as the Food Service Director.
She loved her Hawkeyes and popcorn. Marilyn and Dean enjoyed camping and playing 500.
She is survived by her children Deanna (Rod) Schorpp of Flanagan, Illinois, Donna (John) Coulter of Earlham, Iowa, Steve Furman of Davenport; Iowa. 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great -great grandchild, one sister in-law Annabel Meyer of Iowa Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Mollie Meyer, her husband Dean Furman, her sisters; Freda Winter, Arlene Smit, Maxine Barton, Dorothy Bach, Mildred Poland, Wilma Wulke, Irene Meyer, her brothers; Henry Meyer, Leonard Meyer, an infant brother, and one grandson Nathan Broerman.
