Marilyn Jean Bollinger, 91, of Savannah, Missouri and formally of Alden, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at LaVerna Senior Living in Savannah, Missouri. There will be a public visitation Saturday September 26, 2020 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. There will be a 1:30 pm graveside service at the Alden Cemetery Sunday, September 27, 2020. Marilyn Jean Dass was born November 9, 1928, at her parents home in Franklin Çounty just south of Faulkner, Iowa to Christian August Dass and Amelia Sophie (Schachterle) Dass. She attended rural country school and the Ackley Community School. On November 8, 1974, she was united in marriage to Edward Lynn Bollinger. She worked at Sears Roebuck Service Department. She was a member of First Christian Church of Iowa Falls and the Alden American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Lynn and Marilyn had a Christmas Tree Farm for many years. They also enjoyed nature walks, wild flowers, and bird watching.
Marilyn is survived by her husband: Lynn Bollinger of Savannah, Missouri; their children: Craig (Cara) Aukes of Sioux Center, Iowa, Brenda Cochran of Savannah, Missouri, Todd (Laurie) Bollinger of Bossier City, Louisiana; and 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; one sister-in-law: Joanne Dass. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents: Christian and Amelia Dass; one brother: Darrell Dass.
