Lorraine (Latch) Miller

Lorraine Latch Miller, 85 of Bemidji, Minnesota, and formerly from Owasa, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020, at the Gold Pine Retirement Home, Bemidji, Minnesota. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, private family services will be held. She will be buried at the Berlin Jackson Township Cemetery Owasa, Iowa. The Linn’s Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to: Owasa United Methodist Church 106 Berkeley Street, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126.

Lorraine was born August 22, 1935 at her parents home in Hardin County Iowa to Harry and Edna Wilkinson Latch. Lorraine graduated Owasa High School with the class of 1953. Lorraine was united in marriage to Bernard Miller on February 14, 1955 at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, Ackley Iowa and to this union two children were born; Linda and Mark.

Lorraine was a farm wife in the truest sense of the word. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, growing many vegetables and especially enjoyed her gladiolas, a passion passed down from her mother Edna. Family was always important to Bernard and Lorraine. There were many trips to Bemidji, MN and North Manchester, IN and surrounding towns to attend grandkids softball, volleyball, basketball and football games, track and golf meets and dance recitals. Many fun times were shared on the surrounding lakes boating, tubing and fishing. We were so pleased to be able to move Lorraine to Bemidji in hopes of surrounding her with family and the laughter and smiles of great grandchildren, unfortunately COVID robbed us of fulfilling that desire.We want to say that we are ever so grateful for Jane Knutson and family for being her “Iowa family” when we were unable, and to the Gold Pine staff of Bemidji who worked so hard at making it the best of a bad situation.

Lorraine is survived by her brother Robert Latch of Cosmopolis, WA. Daughter Linda (Miller) and Dave Harms of Middlebury, IN. Son Mark Miller and Jan of Bemidji, MN. Grandchildren Ann (Harms) and Jeremy Schaefer and great granddaughter Zeilia of Chicago, IL. Jessica (Harms) and Michael Couillard also of Chicago, IL. Andrea and Rachel Miller of Mendota Heights, MN. Zacharia and Amber Miller and great grandchildren Oliver, Faith, Everett, and Emma of Bemidji, MN. Alexandra (Miller) and Nic Riley and great grandchildren Louis and Cecilia of Lakeville, MN.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
