Lorraine Andersen
1927 - 2019
Lorraine Andersen, 92, died peacefully on August 12, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Denver.
She was born on August 7, 1927, one of four children born to Abner and Ella (Thies) Williams in
Iowa Falls, Iowa. She attended elementary schools there and graduated from High School in 1944.
Lorraine married Adolph (Bud) Andersen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa in 1947.
They lived on, and operated their family farm north of Alden, Iowa where they had four children.
She was also a long time resident of Alden. She worked for many years at Franklin Manufacturing
in Webster City where she was a Union Steward. After retiring from Franklin, she enjoyed tending bar
until she was 88. Lorraine was an avid 500 card player and also took pleasure watching the news, baseball,
Nascar, spending time with family and friends and tending her yard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bud, her sister Charlotte (Char), and her brother Kenneth.
Surviving members of the family include her brother Tom Williams, her son Dane, her three daughters
Ivy, Julie and Marie, her Grand-children Rachael and Ryan, Great-grand children, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on September 28th, 2:00pm at Northlawn Cemetery in Iowa Falls.
A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 pm at The Brickhouse in Alden for all of Lorraine’s friends and family.
Food and refreshments will be provided.
