Leona M. Goldhorn, 100, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, died Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Scenic Manor Nursing Home of Iowa Falls. Funeral Services for Leona Goldhorn will be 10:30 am Friday, May 8, 2015 at the First Christian Church, 221 Fischer, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. With visitation occurring an hour ahead of time at 9:30 am Friday. Memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa Public Television. The Linn's Funeral Home is caring for Leona and her family.

Leona was born February 2, 1915, in Franklin Co. to Dan and Minnie (Dehning) Schulz. She attended Scott Township School and was confirmed at Nazareth Lutheran in Coulter, Iowa. Besides raising her kids, for most of her life she was a landlady for 33 years, renting out to college students, and working for herself caring and cleaning for her family and rental home. Leona was proud of her family, her home, and her garden. She enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and all the Canadian provinces.

Leona is survived by her four children; Gary [Linda] Toomsen, Janis Rea, Arlene [Barry] Barkey, Lorell [Sandy] Toomsen, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Leona was preceded in death by her parents Dan and Minnie Schulz; her brother: Arthur Schulz; sister-in-law: Florence Schulz, her first husband: John L. Toomsen, an infant son, second husband, Luke B. Goldhorn and son-in-law, Joe Rea.
