Kathleen Rose Johnson died on Friday, March 3, 2017.  Funeral services for Kathleen Johnson will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, IA 50126. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday, March 10, 2017, also at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the to the American Heart Association; 3816 Paysphere Circle Chicago, IL 60674.

 

Kathleen Rose Hackbarth was born on February 18, 1928 in a house on Washington Avenue in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She grew up in Dows, the middle child of seven, born to LeRoy and Edna (Patzer) Hackbarth. Kathleen graduated from Dows High School in 1945.  She met Eugene Johnson in 1946 and they were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa on July 31, 1948. They had four children; Dennis Eugene born in 1949, Jeffrey Royce born in 1950, Rosanne Marie born in 1953 and Lance Andrew born in 1964. They lived and worked in the Iowa Falls area until their retirements in 1987 and 1988. Kathleen was employed by Boyt Harness Company of Iowa Falls and Dodger Sporting Goods of Eldora. From 1990 until 2004 they became "snowbirds" spending their winters in Weslaco, TX and their summers in Iowa Falls. They then moved to Mesa, AZ where they resided until recently moving to Spring, TX to be near their oldest son. 

 

Kathleen Johnson is survived by her husband Eugene of Spring, TX; a son, Dennis (Nancy) of Spring, TX; a son, Jeff (Kathy) of Helotes, TX; a daughter, Rosanne (Ann) of Mesa, AZ; a sister, Pearl (Robert); five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. 

 

Kathleen Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and a son Lance Andrew.
