Jurgen S. 'Jerry' DeBuhr, 72, of Ackley, Iowa, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Presbyterian Village, Ackley, Iowa. Funeral services for Jurgen S. 'Jerry' DeBuhr will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the United Methodist Church, 416 Hardin Street, Ackley, Iowa. A time of visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Jurgen "Jerry" Stanley DeBuhr was born July 3, 1940 in Ackley, Iowa the son of Harm and Margaret 'Tjaden' DeBuhr. He attended Ackley Community Schools. Jerry worked for the Ackley Canning Factory in the maintenance department for many years. He retired when the canning factory closed. He enjoyed fishing either by himself or with friends.

Jerry DeBuhr is survived by his two sisters: Marilyn Neymeyer of Clinton, Iowa and Margaret Peterson of Colfax, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harm and Margaret DeBuhr; a sister: Linda Koppes, and two brothers: Harvey DeBuhr and Jake DeBuhr.
