Jane Nancy Taylor, 78, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Wednesday, June 19,2019 at her home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Jane Taylor will be 10:00 am Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls. Visitation for Jane Taylor will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Sunday, June 23, 2019 also at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Jane Nancy Taylor, daughter of Richard and Mavis [Hendrickson] Varland was born July 5, 1940 in Webster City, Iowa. Raised on a farm near Radcliffe, Iowa, the family moved to Iowa Falls, Iowa when her father secured employment as a police officer. Jane graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1958 and later in the year married Charles D. Taylor while he was in the United States Army at Ft. Meyer, Virginia. They lived in off base housing in Arlington, Virginia until Charles was honorably discharged in 1959 and they moved to Des Moines, Iowa. Daughter Laura was born while visiting relative in Iowa Falls. After residence in Ames where her husband was a policeman, the family moved to Anamosa while her husband finished college at the University of Iowa. They then moved to Norwalk while he was employed in Des Moines, Iowa. After transferring to a different federal investigative agency, Charles was assigned to Oakland, California, and resided in Livermore and later Pleasanton, California. It was here that their son Charles R. was born in 1978. After transfer back to Iowa to finish his career the family lived to Ankeny and after retirement, Lake Ponderosa near Montezuma, Iowa. In 2013 after a lengthy absence, Jane and her husband returned to Iowa Falls where they lived until her death. Jane was diagnosed as having severe dementia, Alzheimer’s and was cared for at her home by her husband and close friends.
Jane was the sole child of Richard and Mavis Varland who both preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband: Charles Taylor of Iowa Falls; a son: Charles Richard Taylor of Boone, Iowa; a daughter: Laura Jane Silverii of Albany, Oregon; five grandchildren; and cousins in the Radcliffe, Iowa area.
