Gary Lea Tjarks, 62, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Linn’s Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Gary was born on December 23, 1958, to Gary Lee and Karen (Jacobson) Tjarks. He attended school in Iowa Falls. He worked for many years as a farmhand carpet layer, and a groundskeeper for Highland Golf Club. Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting and visiting with family and friends. Gary and Rhonda Wood were together for 32 years.

Gary is survived by his spouse Rhonda Wood, his son Nicholas (Jessica) Tjarks of Iowa Falls, daughter Mandy Tjarks (Shane) Monroe of Eldridge, Iowa; and 7 grandchildren; his mother Karen Abkes of Iowa Falls; siblings Ronnie Tjarks, Doug (Elaine) Tjarks, Kevin Tjarks, Shelly (Thomas) Hoffman, Kim (Jane) Abkes, Alice Abkes, Richard (Shelly) Abkes, and Leonard Abkes.

Gary was preceded in death by his father Gary Tjarks, stepfather Stan Abkes, and infant sister Colleen Tjarks.
