Bonnie Mae Rogers, 79, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away with her family at her side on May 26, 2024 in Hayward, Wisconsin. Services for Bonnie Rogers will be 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Grace Church, 4200 E 25th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50317. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Northlawn Memory Garden Cemetery 21747 150th Street, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Linn’s Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bonnie was born on June 2, 1944 to Harold and Margaret (Colberson) Shaner in Iowa Falls, Iowa where she grew up.On August 21, 1965 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Richard (Red) Rogers at the Open Bible Church in Iowa Falls. To this union three children were born: Tammy, Rick, and Brandon. Bonnie spent her days as a homemaker, taking care of her children until they were grown. Later Bonnie had the pleasure of doing daycare for her grandchildren, and she started her own sewing business “In Home Sewing”. Sewing was a passion she enjoyed from a early age, she loved to sew and share her talent with others. Bonnie also loved to bake chocolate chip cookies and apple pie with the grandkids. Bonnie made the best pies. She also enjoyed gardening and planting flowers all around the house, (she had her Mother’s green thumb). One of Bonnie’s greatest joys was to spend time with the family and going to her grandchildren’s activities and events.

Bonnie is survived by her husband: Richard (Red) Rogers of 58 years; a daughter: Tammy (Mark) Kolstad and children Erica and Nathan; son: Rick (Billie) Rogers and children Madison and Emilie; son: Brandon (Dawn) Rogers and children Trinity (Dillon), Cordell (Alyvia); sister: Dora Collins; brother: Robert Shaner; great-grandchildren: Jack, Amelia, Bruce, Brandon, Coralynn, and Aurora.

She was preceded in death by infant daughter: Carla Jean; parents: Harold and Margaret Shaner; infant granddaughter: Breanna Kolstad; sister: Mary Bangtson; parents in-law: Harrison and Elsie Rogers; brother in-law: Bryce Collins.
