WEATHER CHANGE: Bertha Borschel, 89, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Scenic Manor, Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Bertha Borschel has been rescheduled to 10:30 am Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 2712 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, with Reverend David Werges officiating, due to weather. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at the Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls.
Bertha Theresa Norem was born March 14, 1923, on the parents farm near Radcliffe, Iowa, In Hamilton County. She attended the Radcliffe grade schools and graduated from the William, Iowa Community Schools with the class of 1941. On October 10, 1942, Bertha was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Borschel at Princeton, Missouri. Bertha was a homemaker, housewife, mother, and grandmother. Bertha was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Iowa falls, the American Legion Auxiliary of Post #188, Iowa Falls, and a former Lady of the Moose Lodge, Iowa Falls.

Bertha Borschel is survived by her children: Barb [Larry] Havens of Steamboat Rock, Iowa, Sherri Elsberry of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Gary Borschel of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Dennis [Robbin] Elsberry of Grundy Center, Iowa; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; one sister: Wilma Boheman of Branson, Missouri; two brothers: Lee [Irene] Norem of Garden City, Iowa, Lyle [Vera] Norem of Ackley, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law: Beverly Norem of Iowa Falls and Minnie Norem of Ames, Iowa.
