Bert Brown, 90, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015, at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center, Eldora, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, February 12, 2015, at the St. Mark's Catholic Church, 415 Main Street, Iowa Falls. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday at the Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, with a Vigil Scripture service at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls, with military honors provided by the Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post # 188, Iowa Falls. Bertrand Oscar Brown was born August 30, 1924 at Van Meter, Iowa, the son of Bertrand Oscar Brown and Teresa [Connolly] Brown. He attended rural schools in Dallas Township of Dallas County, Iowa. He graduated from the Adel High School with the class of 1942. He enlisted in the United States Army-Air Corps on November 4, 1942. He served as an aircraft technician with the 15th Air Force in North Africa and Italy. On June 4, 1945 Bert was united in marriage to Mary Rose Bailey at Alamogordo, New Mexico. To this union four children were born: Doug, Peggy, Patty, and Dave. Bert worked as an electrical lineman for the Hardin County Rural Electric Company. He retired in 1986.
Bert was a member of the St. Mark Parish, Iowa Falls, a life member of Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post # 188, Iowa Falls, and the Frank McGivney Council of the Knights of Columbus # 5835, Iowa Falls.

Bert Brown is survived by his wife: Mary Rose Brown of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his children: Doug [Ron Evert] Brown of Sacramento, California, Peggy [Bob] Studer of Plover, Iowa, Patty [Bruce] Holden of West Des Moines, Iowa, Dave [Marge] Brown of Ankeny, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
