Barbara Jean Super, 88, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Scenic Manor Nursing Home of Iowa Falls. A celebration of life memorial service will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday June 4, 2015 at the Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial services are pending at this time at the Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Minnesota.
Barbara Jean Maffenbeier was born December 14, 1926 in Christney, Indiana to Mary Maffenbeier. She attended Christney High School and graduated in 1944. She was married to Leon Joseph Super on May 12, 1945 to this union four children were born.
Barbara and Leon owned and operated the Super Inn Bar in Evansville, Indiana for 10 years. They purchased Beaver Dam Resort in Cleveland, MN in 1957 to 1973 and Barbara and her son Terry purchased the Scenic Inn in Iowa Falls, IA in 1979 until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the St. Mark's Catholic Church and also a member of the Ladies of the Moose, in Iowa Falls.
Barbara Super is survived by her children: Sondra [Edward] Bisek of Cleveland MN, Keith and Kenneth Super of Lebanon, OR. And Terry [Debra] Super of Iowa Falls. Eight grandchildren: Rusty [Katherine] Bisek, Patrick [Amber] Bisek, Tammy [Steve] Betsock, Donica Dunnigan, Nathaniel [Stephanie] Super, Joshua [Rachel] Super, Matthew Super and Rebecca [Jonas Cail] Super. Also, 9 great-grandchildren: Madison and Wyatt Bisek, Noah and Brayden Bisek, Courtney and Alexis Bestock, Lilian and Noah Super and Lydia Super. She is preceded in death by her husband Leon Super.
