Andrew Robert Berg, 24, of Ames, Iowa passed away on Friday, June 28th, 2024 following ongoing complications from surgery. Mass of Christian Burial for Andrew Berg will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Saint Cecilla Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Avenue, Ames, Iowa 50010. Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames. With rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. The family is creating an endowment in Andrew’s name through the Knights of Columbus Council 2230 at St. Cecilia’s. Andrew was born on February 4, 2000 in Des Moines, IA to Philip and Kara Berg. He was born with a condition called hydrocephalus, which followed him throughout his life. He enjoyed learning and excelled academically. He graduated from Ames High School in 2018. He graduated from DMACC with an Associate in Arts in 2020. He graduated with his BA in MIS/Computer Science from the University of Northern Iowa in fall 2023. 

Andrew was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. While at UNI, he served as the Grand Knight of the Council at St. Stephens in Cedar Falls, IA. He worked at a summer internship with Summit Agricultural Group and worked as a student employee for the university’s IT department.

He touched many lives in his short life. He was an incredible son and big brother. He loved to play guitar, ride his bike and be out in nature. He is survived by his mother and father Kara and Philip, sister Samantha, grandfather Robert Nandell, Aunt and Uncle/godparents David and Heather Nandell and cousins who were more like siblings: Connor and Harrison Nandell and Nik, Evan and Noelani Berg. He was preceded in death by sister Stephanie, Uncle Daniel Berg and grandparents Linda and Allan Berg and Diane Nandell.

The Linn’s Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel (extended family of Andrew) is assisting with arrangements.

Visitation will be Friday, July 5 from 5-6:30p, followed by a Rosary at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Ave, Ames, IA

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30am, Saturday, July 6 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Ave, Ames, IA
