Ritta Marie (Randolph) Kurth

     Ritta Marie Kurth, age, 89, of Ackley, Iowa passed away December 11, 2018 at the Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Ritta Kurth will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ackley, 903 Cerro Gordo St.; Ackley, Iowa 50601.  Visitation will be held from 10:45 until 11:45 am Saturday, December 15, 2018 also at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ackley.      Ritta Marie Randolph was born on February 15, 1929 to Oris Hugh Fitz and Lenor Della [Tucker] Randolph on their farm in Davis County, Iowa. She graduated the Anamosa High School. Ritta then attended and graduated from Grinnell College with a Bachelors Degree in Art and a Secondary Degree in Teaching. She worked many years for Ackley World Journal in the advertising department, retiring in the early 1990’s. She was also a 4-H leader and played bridge with the teachers wives for many years. Through all of her life though, she was an avid quilter. Making sure that all 4 children, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren received a quilt from her.

     Ritta Marie Kurth is survived by her four children: Linda [Paul] Thomas of Eldora, Iowa, LouAnn Hurd of Des Moines, Iowa, Ronald [Kathryn] Kurth of Redlands, California, and Roger [Jessica] Kurth of Iowa Falls, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a nephew and niece: John and Suzanne. Ritta Kurth was preceded in death by her parents: Oris and Lenore Randolph; her husband: Warren Kurth; a brother and sister-in-law: Clellen “Andy” and Winifred Randolph; and a son-in-law Robert Hurd.
