Joy [Dueling] Kinney, 80, of Hampton, Iowa passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City. Funeral services for Joy Kinney will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Webster City, with a meal to follow. The Linn’s Funeral Home is helping the family with arrangements.
Joy Dueling was born June 2, 1937 in Bedford, Iowa to Harold and Rose [Wyckoff] Dueling. She graduated from the Winterset High School; and on November 29, 1956 she was united in marriage to Jerry Kinney. To this union three children were born: Jory, Jeff and Jason. Joy worked for 30 years at the Area Education Agency 6 as a Media Specialist. She was a secretary at the E-Free Church in Iowa Falls and also participated in the Church Women’s United group in Iowa Falls. Joy’s most important things in her life were her faith in God, her large family, her love of music, and fishing.
Joy Kinney is survived by her three children: Jory [Mike] Rapp of Williams, Iowa, Jeff [Alison] Kinney of Turlock, California, and Jason [Melissa] Kinney of Eldora, Iowa; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-granchildren not quite yet born; 2 sisters: Jolene [Lyle] Schwery of St. Charles, Iowa, Dixie Cortner Hansen of Vinton, Iowa; and one brother: Max [Shirley] Cortner of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
