     Harvey Oelmann, 81, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Heritage Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Harvey Oelmann will be at 2:30 pm Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, IA 50126. There will be a time of fellowship and sharing from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Thursday, October 26, 2017 also at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls. The family requests that everyone please dress casual, just as he did his whole life. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorials be made out to: Linn's Funeral Home - Harvey Oelmann Funeral Fund; c/o Linn’s Funeral Home; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, IA 50126.      Harvey Oelmann was born April 8, 1936 in Ackley, Iowa to Frederick G. and Stientje [Dannen] Oelmann. He attended the Iowa Falls Grade Schools. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard for a couple of years also. He was employed at Martin Marietta, Iowa Prestressed Concrete, and mostly farming. He was united in marriage to the best wife ever Beverly Faye Vanderwerf on May 11, 1991 in Ackley. He was a member of the Iowa Falls Moose Lodge for over 40 years. He was also a member of the First Christian Church in Iowa Falls. Some of his favorite past times included karaoke, dancing, and going out with friends.

     Harvey Oelmann is survived by his wife: Beverly Faye Oelmann of Iowa Falls, Iowa; five children: Calvin Oelmann of Tekamah, Nebraska, Barb Broyles  of Dayton, Texas, Terry [Teresa] Oelmann of Hudson, New Hampshire, Heidi [Dan] McCourt of Mason City, Iowa, and Michelle [Michael] Littrell of Asheville, North Carolina; four siblings: Jenny Risius of Sac City, Martha Heiden of Amery, Wisconsin, Thelma “Tootie” [Roger] Yakel of Iowa Falls, and Raymond [Donna] Oelmann of Beaman, Iowa; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Harvey Oelmann was preceded in death by his parents: Frederick and Stientje Oelmann; and eight siblings: George Oelmann, Else Oelmann, Florence Slagle, Meta “Matti” Kolthoff, Edward Oelmann, Freddie Oelmann, Robert Oelmann, and Henry Oelmann.
