Evelyn Langford, 76, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Mercy Hospital, Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services for Evelyn Langford, will be 10:30 am, Sunday, September 29, 2019, at the First Church of God, 115 Indiana Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Linn’s Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Burial will be at 2:00 pm Monday, September 30,2019, at the Chariton Cemetery, Chariton, Iowa. Evelyn Mae Clothier was born July, 12, 1943, to Walter and Madalyn Miller Clothier in Chariton, Iowa. She attended country school through second grade. Evelyn completed grades 3 - 12 at Chariton Public School. She was active in many music groups including band and choral groups while in school. Evelyn attended the University of Iowa from 1961 to 1965 on a music scholarship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Evelyn married Loren Langford of Corydon, Iowa, on September 5, 1964 at the Christian Church in Chariton. Iowa. She taught elementary and middle school instrumental and vocal music at West Harrison Schools, Mondamin, Iowa; Eagleman Elementary School, Grand Island, Nebraska; and BCLUW Middle School District, Union, Iowa. Evelyn was a member of Etude, Dow Jones and the Averages, Parchment Club, and Women of the Church of God.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Loren Langford of Iowa Falls, Iowa, daughter Marilyn (Langford) Snyder and husband Ron of Dubuque, Iowa; son Mark Langford and wife Jody of St. John, Indiana; two grandchildren Jeremiah and Savannah Snyder; sister Martha Piper of Auburndale, Florida, brother-in-law Roger Davis of Canyon City, Colorado; and brother-in-law Bob Hayward; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law Edward and Neva Clothier; sister Mary Ann Davis; and brother-in-law Don Piper; and sister-in-law Nona Hayward.
