     Curtis Lee Ross, 31, of Cedar Falls, Iowa and formerly of Ackley, Iowa passed away Friday, November 24, 2017, doing what he loved, hunting, near Lake Rathbun, Iowa. Services for Curtis Ross will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the St. John’s United Church of Christ; 716 3rd Ave; Ackley, Iowa 50601. There will be a time of story telling and a Celebration of Life from 1:00 until 5:00 pm Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the Ackley Country Club; 902 8th Ave; Ackley, Iowa 50601. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials sent to: Curtis Ross Memorial; c/o Linn’s Funeral Home; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Memorials given will be used to help others enjoy, strengthen and endorse the activities that Curt enjoyed. The Linn's Funeral Home in Ackley is caring for the family.

     Curtis Lee Ross was born February 13, 1986 to Stephen Randal and Kathryn Sue [Greenfield] Ross. Curt was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying many sports such as game hunting, fishing, golf, pool, and baseball. Curt graduated from Ackley Geneva Wellsburg Steamboat Rock Community Schools in 2004. His best pal, was his chocolate lab, Avery. His work included Triple T Meats, hunting guide services in southern Iowa, Ackley Painting Company, and most recently Roegner Builders. Curt Ross worked hard and played hard. He had a zest for life, a quick wit, and a casual smile. He nurtured his friendships and loved his family. Curt dreamt of owning acres of land to build a home and to have his own wildlife oasis. He has gone there now, and his dreams are his reality in heaven.

     Curtis Lee Ross is survived by his mother and step-father: Kathryn [Mark] Ingham of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two brothers: Timothy Ross of Cedar Falls,  and James [Heather] Ross of Iowa Falls, Iowa; step-sister: Chelle Swanberg of Ames, Iowa; step-brother: Nick [Ciara] Ingham of Roeland Park, Kansas; adopted sister: Patty Ross Hitt of Cedar Hill, Missouri; nephews and nieces: Hudson, Sullivan, Morgan, Ashton, Ethan, Brennen, Kiera, and Zoey; godparents: Delmar and Marlys Benning; and many cousins and friends. Curtis Ross is preceded in death by his father and step-mother: Stephen and Fran Ross; Maternal grandparents: Howard and Dorothy Greenfield; and paternal grandparents: Ausy and Beatrice Ross.
