     Charlotte Eulalia Cunningham, of West Des Moines, and formerly of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Fountain West Health Care Center in West Des Moines. Funeral services for Charlotte Cunningham will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the St. Mark Catholic Church; 415 Main Street; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Visitation for Charlotte will be from 5:00 until 7:00 Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Linn's Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Memorials may be directed to the family: Charlotte Cunningham Memorials; c/o Linn's Funeral Home; 1521 Washington Avenue; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. A portion of the memorials will be directed to Fountain West Health Care Center. The Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls is helping the family with the arrangements.

    Charlotte Eulalia Cary was born April 4, 1921 in Greeley, Nebraska to Eldon and Clara [Giles] Cary. She attended Greeley High School graduating in 1939. On April 30, 1945 she was united in marriage to Eldred Emery Cunningham at the Catholic Church in Spalding, Nebraska. To this union 6 children were born: Edward, Eldred, James, Patricia, Charlene, and Renee; along with two infant children that passed away at birth. During most of her life she was a homemaker taking care of her six children, house, and her husband. She was a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church in Iowa Falls, Iowa, along with the Catholic Daughters organization. She was also a member of the Lady of the Moose and the College of Regents for them. When she had free time she loved to garden and enjoyed sewing clothes and alterations as a seamstress for not only her family but others. One of her favorite past times in later years was going to the horse races at Prairie Meadows, and watching them run.

     Those left to cherish the memory of Charlotte Cunningham are her six children: Edward [Sharon] Cunningham of Hampstead, North Carolina; Eldred [Carolyn] Cunningham of Alden, Iowa, James "Jim" Cunningham of Williams, Iowa, Patricia Cunningham of Des Moines, Iowa, Charlene Cunningham of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and also Renee [Ron Taylor] McLaughlin of Des Moines; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister: Meta Mahoney of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska; one brother-in-law: Wayne Zieger of Syracuse, Nebraska; and one sister-in-law Lois Bergren of St. Paul, Nebraska. Charlotte Cunningham was preceded in death by: her parents: Eldon and Clara Cary; her husband: Eldred Cunningham; two children at birth: Twins; four siblings: Aaron "Bud" Cary, Francis Zieger, Clara Vanderloop, and Jerald Cary; and one grandchild: Mark Cunningham.
