Ruth Frances Kness, 89, of Ankeny, Iowa and formerly of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away April 14, 2016 at the Mill-Pond Senior Living Center in Ankeny, Iowa. Graveside services for Ruth Kness will be 12:30 pm April 20, 2016 at the Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls. A reception will follow at 1:30 pm at the Coffee Attic and Book Cellar; 604 Washington; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church; 221 Fischer; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Ruth Frances Wickham was born April 20, 1926 to Ernest Gilmore and Grace M. [Stipp] Wickham in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She attended the Iowa Falls School District graduating in 1947. On February 1, 1950 she married Larry Raymond Kness in Eldora, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Stephen L.; Debra S.; Mary E.; and George G. During her life she worked at Iowa Vet Supply in Iowa Falls, and also worked at Grace Indexing here in Iowa Falls. Working as an office assistant at both jobs. Ruth Kness was a member of the First Christian Church in Iowa Falls.

Those left to cherish Ruth Frances Kness are her four children: Stephen L. [Arlys] Kness of West Des Moines, Iowa, Debra [Deb] S. [Gary] Lettow of Ames, Iowa, Mary E. [Robert] Samson of San Jose, California, and George G. Kness of Ames, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Ruth Kness was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest Gilmore and Grace M. Stipp; her husband: Larry Raymond Kness; six brothers: Harry, twins: Lesley and Wesley, Donald, and his twin Harold, and Merle; two sisters: Ruby Johnson and Mary Smith; and two unnamed infant siblings.
