Lowell James Christensen, 97, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at the Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Lowell James Christensen will be held 1:30 pm, Thursday December 8, 2016 at the First Church of God; 115 Indiana Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa, 50126. Visitation will be an hour and a half prior, from noon until 1:30 pm Thursday December 8, 2016 also at the First Church Of God. Memorials may be directed to: First Church of God; c/o Linn's Funeral Home; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. The Linn's Funeral Home is helping the family with arrangements. 


Lowell James Christensen was born September 10, 1919 to George James and Pearl [Chase] Christensen in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He attended the Iowa Falls High School, graduating in 1937. Lowell proudly served our country in the Army Air Guard. He was united in marriage to Opal Finola Smith. To this union four children were born: Carolyn, Susan, Lowell Junior and Deniese. Lowell was a proprietor of Chris & Son Body Shop, Chris' Honda and Chris' Chrome Shop. He was a member and served on the board of directors for the American Legion. Lowell was also a member and served on the board of directors at the First Church of God.

Those left to cherish Lowell James Christensen are his children: Carolyn [Donald] Lange of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Susan [Phillip] Eggleston of Sherman, Texas, Lowell “Junior” [Peggy] Christensen of Leavenworth, Washington, and Deniese [David] Webb of Owasso, Oklahoma; one sister: Ilene Dobbins of Sacramento, California; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by  his parents: George James and Pearl [Chase] Christensen; his step-father who raised him: Arlo Hall; his loving wife: Opal Finola Christensen; three grandchildren: Lisa Lange, Daniel Lange and Kasey Christensen; his half-sister: Elaine Christensen; a son-in-law: Denny Dillon  and a brother-in-law: Harold Dobbins.
