Glen Forest Evans was born January 10, 1930 at his parents family farm in rural Alden, Iowa. He was the son of Marion and Ruby Chloe [Moore] Evans. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Popejoy, Iowa. He graduated from the Popejoy High School in 1948 as valedictorian.  On December 27, 1953 he was united in marriage to Mary Rose Landman in Iowa Falls, Iowa. To this union 4 children were born: David, Dean, Katherine, and Rebecca. During his life he was self employed as a farmer, retiring in 1994. He was the moderator, Sunday School teacher, trustee, deacon, and choir member at the First Baptist Church in Iowa Falls. Glen was a charter member of the Popejoy Lions Club, member of the Franklin County Cattlemen’s Association, Franklin County Historical Society, and a proud 30+ year 4-H leader. Glen was blessed with a beautiful baritone voice so he sang at many funerals and weddings.
