Dennis Lee Ward, 73, of Alden, Iowa passed away Friday July 15,2016 at Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls. Visitation will be held an hour ahead of time 1:00 - 2:00 pm Saturday July 23, 2016 also at the Linn’s Funeral Home. The Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls is helping the family with arrangements.

Dennis Lee Ward was born April 26,1943 to Glen and Leola Mae [Powers] Ward in Hamburg, Iowa. His siblings include: Harold, Florence, Keith and Margaret. He attended Riverton Community Schools completing the 10th grade. He later earned a GED at Ellsworth Community College. Dennis moved to Iowa Falls after marrying Mary Margaret (Wills) in 1962. Of this marriage they had 2 children Sherry Jean and Craig Allen. Dennis started working at Farmland Foods in 1964 until the Iowa Falls plant closed in 1988, and then he moved to Crete, Nebraska to continue working with Farmland Foods until 1995.  He then returned to Iowa Falls to be closer to his children. He started working at Ellsworth Community College in environmental services until retirement in 2003. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, horseback riding, bowling, softball, racquetball, western movies, listening to golden oldies music, and spending time with his family. He loved being a grandfather and great grandfather.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter: Sherry [Leo] Bradley of Armstrong, Iowa, and his son, Craig [Betty] Ward of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his sisters: Margaret [Gerry] Gardner and Florence Eggers both of Riverton, Iowa; his grandchildren: Michalee [Nathan] Gillmore of Elkhart, IA., and Jacob Ward and Logan Ward both of Iowa Falls, IA; also his great grandchildren: Skyler, Taysen, Shaylee, Bryden, and Telyn, all of Elkhart, IA. Dennis Lee Ward was preceded in death by his parents: Glen and Leola Ward; his brothers: Harold Ward and Keith Ward; and a great-grandson: Colton Gillmore.
