Alfred 'AL" Bernard Neff

Alfred “Al” Bernard Neff, 76, of Pleasant Hill and formerly of Alden, Iowa passed away Saturday January 23, 2016, at the Taylor House Hospice of Des Moines.  Burial will be at the Alden Township Cemetery, Alden, Iowa at a later date.  Memorials may be sent to the: Alfred Neff Memorial; c/o: Linn's Funeral Home; 1521 Washington Ave.; Iowa Falls, IA 50126.
 
Alfred “Al” Bernard Neff  was born October 29, 1939  in Chicago, Illinois   to Richard Alfred and Dorothy [Kirkwood] Neff . He graduated high school from Grossmount High in San Diego, California, where he then attended San Diego State College for a period of two-and-a-half years.  Alfred joined the Naval Reserves in 1958 and served for two years until 1960 when he joined the United States Air Force until 1966.  Alfred was united in marriage on March 9 1974 to Marian Amelia Bessman in Alden, Iowa., at the Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ. Alfred retired from his working years in 2001 as the Manager of Operations with Architectural Doors in Marshfield, WI.  After Marian passed away Alfred married Billie Jean Roberts on February 17, 2007 at the Church of Christ in Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
 
Alfred is survived by his wife Billie Jean Roberts-Neff of Pleasant Hill, Iowa; two step-daughters: Rhonda of Pleasant Hill, and Kathy of Des Moines, Iowa; three step-grandchildren: Jeremy, Tim, and Kendra; and his aunt: Phyllis Lettow of Iowa Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Dorothy Neff and his former wife Marian Amelia Neff.
