Doris R. Rieks, 87, of Owasa, Iowa, passed away, Thursday, June 28, 2012, at her home. Funeral services for Doris R. Rieks will be 3:00 pm Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 313 Lee Lane, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Monday. Burial will be at the Northalwn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa Falls. The Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, is in charge of the arrangements.

Doris Ruth Klein was born July 20, 1925, near Alden, Iowa to Ferdinand and Augusta [Lange] Klein. She was baptized on August 9, 1925, and confirmed April 2, 1939, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Alden, Iowa. She grew up in the Alden Community, graduated from the Alden High School with the class of 1943 and married Maynard Maynard W. Rieks on September 22, 1948 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They lived north of Alden until 1956 and then moved to a farm east of Owasa, Iowa. She worked at Whinks Products, Eldora, Iowa for 18 years; retiring in 1988.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Iowa Falls; the Lutheran Ladies Aide, and Joy Circle. She was also a member of the Owasa Neighborhood Club.

Doris R. Rieks is survived by her husband: Maynard Rieks of Owasa, Iowa; two sons: Bruce [Colleen] Rieks of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Barton Rieks of rural Iowa Falls, Iowa; two grandchildren: Shelby and Gannett Rieks; two step-grandchildren: Hannah [Curt] Saland and Nick Kollasch; two great grandchildren: Lydia and Lila Saland; and one sister: Edna Sanders.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents: Ferdinand and Augusta Klein; her brothers: Fred, Paul, Frank, Walter, Herman, Robert, and Irwin; and her sisters: Ann, Eisa, Irene, Esther, and Lillian.
